Red Cabbage And Apples

Ingredients
  Red cabbage head 1 Medium
  Butter/Margarine 4 Tablespoon
  Onions 2 Medium, chopped
  Nutmeg 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 2 Teaspoon
  Ground black pepper 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Water 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Cider vinegar 2 Tablespoon
  Apples 4 , peeled, cored, and sliced (Use Firm Ones)
  Lemon juice 3 Tablespoon
Directions

Quarter the cabbage, remove hard core, and shred it.
Melt butter in large skillet.
Add onions, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
Cook until onions are just golden.
Add water and vinegar; gradually add cabbage, stirring as you do.
Cover; cook over medium heat for 30 minutes.
Add sliced apples; continue cooking, covered, for no more than 30 minutes.
Add extra water if needed.
Stir in lemon juice just before serving.
