Red Cabbage

Ingredients
  Heart of red cabbage 1 Pound, shredded
  Onion 1 , finely chopped
  Apple 1 , coarsely chopped
  Dripping/Butter 1 Ounce
  Stock/Water 1⁄8 Pint
  Brown sugar 1 Tablespoon
  White vinegar 1 Tablespoon
  Black pepper 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Powdered mace 1 Pinch
Directions

MAKING
1. In a saucepan melt dripping.
2. Stir in all the other ingredients.
3. Cover with a lid and cook.
4. Shake frequently until cabbage is tender but still crisp and the pan is dry.

SERVING
5. Serve hot.
