Sweet Sour Red Cabbage

Ingredients
  Butter 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Instant onions 2 Tablespoon, chopped
  Packed brown sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Black pepper 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Allspice 1 Teaspoon
  Cloves 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Red cabbage 2 Pound, finely shredded
  Boiling water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Wine vinegar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

MAKING
1 In a skillet, melt butter; saute onions until golden brown.
2 Add sugar, seasonings and shredded cabbage; gently mix.
3 Pour in water, cover and simmer for 1 hour.
4 Stir in vinegar and simmer for another 10 minutes.

SERVING
5 Serve hot.

TIP
This is pleasantly tart; if you prefer it milder, use only 1/4 cup vinegar.
