Spicy Red Cabbage with Apples
|Red cabbage||1 Quart, shredded (1 Lb)|
|Tart cooking apples||2 , sliced (Pared)|
|Red wine vinegar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Salt||1 1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Sugar||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
1) In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients with 1/2 cup water.
2) Cover the pan and cook over medium heat until cabbage is tender, about 25 minutes.
3) Stir occasionally.
4) Serve the cabbage and apple mix as sweet and savory side dish.
