|Shredded cabbage||6 Cup (96 tbs)|

|Celery salt||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Water||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Vinegar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Chop peeled apple coarsely, combine with other ingredients, place in greased, deep 2-quart casserole.
Cook, covered in 350Â°F oven about 1.
Wash the cabbage and slice very thinly, removing the hard centre.
Heat the water with the cider vinegar and add sliced cabbage.
Cook for 30 minutes very slowly, turning often to coat cabbage.
Add nutmeg, basil, sugar, thyme and parsley and salt to the orange juice and stir into the cabbage.
Cook covered until the cabbage is tender, about 11/2 hrs.
If necessary, thicken with potato flour mixed with little cold water and added a few minutes before lifting.
