Red Cabbage With Apples
|Red cabbage head||1 Small, shredded|
|Apples||3 , pared, cored and thinly sliced|
|Salad oil/Melted butter/margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Apple juice||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Red wine vinegar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Thyme leaves||1⁄4 Teaspoon, crushed|
Combine ingredients; mix well.
Turn into heavy 2- quart casserole or pot with heatproof handles.
Place on cooking grill; cover kettle and cook about 1 hour or until tender.
Stir 2 or 3 times during cooking.
