Bernice Roth's Red Cabbage
|Red cabbage head||1|
|Chopped onion||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Vegetable oil||1 Tablespoon|
|Apple||1 , chopped|
|Dry white wine/Vermouth||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||1 Tablespoon|
|Black pepper||To Taste|
In a large frying pan, stir-fry cabbage and onion in vegetable oil until cabbage is just tender.
Add allspice and raw apple and continue to stir until apple is hot.
Add wine and brown sugar; taste and season as desired.
When thoroughly heated, serve.
