Red Cabbage And Apple
|Red cabbage||1 1⁄4 Pound, sliced (625g)|
|Pickling onions/Shallots||6 Ounce, cut in half (175g)|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), chopped (large clove)|
|Eating apples||12 Ounce, cored and sliced (375g)|
|Dill seeds||1 Teaspoon (5ml)|
|Sultanas||1 Ounce (25g)|
|Cider vinegar||3 Fluid Ounce (75ml)|
|Water||3 Fluid Ounce (75ml)|
|Concentrated apple juice||15 Milliliter (1 tbsp)|
1. Layer the cabbage, onion, garlic, apple, dill seeds, cloves and sultanas in a large casserole.
2. Mix together the cider vinegar, water and concentrated apple juice. Pour over the vegetables. Cover the casserole.
3. Bake in a preheated oven at Gas Mark 4,350°F, 180°C for 1 1/4 hours. Serve hot or cold.
