Red Cabbage and Red Onions
|Red cabbage head||1 1⁄2 Pound, finely shredded (1 Piece, 750 Gram)|
|Red wine vinegar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Sweet butter||2 Tablespoon|
|Red onions||2 , thinly sliced|
|Apples||2 , thinly sliced|
|Chicken stock||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||2 Tablespoon|
|Caraway seed||2 Teaspoon|
|Freshly ground black pepper||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
1. In a large bowl, combine cabbage, vinegar and salt. Let stand 5 minutes.
2. Heat butter in a large skillet. Add cabbage, turning 2 to 3 times. Stir in onions, apples, stock, sugar, caraway and pepper.
3. Cook, covered, over low heat for 1 hour, until cabbage is tender. Serve warm.
