Red Cabbage With Wild Apples

Ingredients
  Red cabbage 2 Pound, shredded
  Bacon drippings 3 Tablespoon
  Onion 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), finely chopped
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1 Dash
  Dry red wine 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Wild green apples 2 Cup (32 tbs), cored and diced
  Brown sugar 2 Tablespoon
  Wine vinegar 1 Tablespoon
Directions

Saute cabbage and onion in bacon drippings.
Season with salt and pepper.
Add red wine.
Simmer 10 minutes.
Add apples, brown sugar and wine vinegar.
Cover and simmer 10 more minutes.
