  Onion 1 Small, chopped
  Butter 3 Tablespoon
  Meat stock/Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Cabbage head 1 Small, shredded
  Tart apple 1 Small, cored and diced
  Vinegar 3 Tablespoon
  Brown sugar 1 Tablespoon
  Allspice 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon

1. In a 2-quart glass casserole, saute onion in butter 2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute. Stir in stock, cabbage, and apple.
2. Cover casserole and cook 6 to 8 minutes, stirring halfway through cooking time.
3. Add vinegar, brown sugar, allspice, and salt to cabbage; mix well. Cook 3 to 4 minutes.
4. Rest, covered, 5 minutes before serving.
