|Onions||1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped|
|Bacon||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), diced|
|Green cabbage head||3 Pound, cored and shredded|
|Caraway seeds||1 Teaspoon|
|Cider vinegar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Black pepper||To Taste|
In saucepan, saute chopped onions in oil until golden in color.
Add bacon (if using it) and cook until it is lightly browned.
Add cabbage, mixing it well with the onion and bacon.
Add caraway seeds.
Cover pan and steam over medium heat for 10 minutes.
Pour in vinegar and water, stirring and season with salt, honey and pepper.
Cover and cook over medium heat about 10 minutes longer.
