Butterscotch Coconut Toasties

Ingredients
  Sifted flour 1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)
  Baking powder 2 Teaspoon (Calumet)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Butter/Shortening 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Packed brown sugar 1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)
  Eggs 2
  Vanilla 2 Teaspoon
  Toasties 2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs) (Post)
  Coconut/2.5 cups grape nuts flakes / post 40% bran flakes 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), cut into strips (Bakers)
Directions

Sift flour once, measure, add baking powder and salt, and sift again.
Cream shortening, add sugar gradually, creaming thoroughly.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
Add vanilla.
Then add flour, a small amount at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in cereal and coconut.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet.
Bake in moderate oven (375°F.) for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
