Butterscotch Coconut Toasties
|Sifted flour||1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon (Calumet)|
|Butter/Shortening||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Packed brown sugar||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Toasties||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs) (Post)|
|Coconut/2.5 cups grape nuts flakes / post 40% bran flakes||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), cut into strips (Bakers)|
Sift flour once, measure, add baking powder and salt, and sift again.
Cream shortening, add sugar gradually, creaming thoroughly.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
Then add flour, a small amount at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in cereal and coconut.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet.
Bake in moderate oven (375Â°F.) for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
