Butterscotch Patties

Ingredients
  Granulated sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  White corn syrup 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Vinegar 1 Teaspoon
  Butter 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Put syrup and sugar into saucepan and heat until sugar dissolves.
Then add vinegar.
Continue boiling without stirring until it reaches 260° F. (hard ball stage).
Add butter and continue cooking to 270° F. (soft crack stage).
Remove from heat.
Drop half-teaspoonfuls of the candy onto well buttered pans to form patties.
Let cool before removing from pans.
Makes about 40 patties.
