In small saucepan cook onion and green pepper in butter till tender.
Combine catsup, cornstarch, and worcestershire; stir into vegetables.
Add beer; heat and stir just till boiling.
Com-bine ground beef and 1 teaspoon salt.
Shape into six 1/2-inch-thick patties.
Brush with beer mixture.
Grill patties over medium-hot coals till desired doneness, turning once (allow 10 to 12 minutes total time for medium).
Brush occasionally with beer mixture.
Serve patties on toasted rye bread; spoon more of the hot beer mixture over patties.
