Beef And Carrot Burgers
|Egg||1 , beaten|
|Shredded carrot||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Finely chopped onion||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Wheat germ||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Dried marjoram||1⁄4 Teaspoon, crushed|
|Ground beef||1 Pound|
|Monterey jack cheese slice||4|
|Whole wheat hamburger buns/Kaiser rolls, split and toasted||4 , split and toasted|
Combine egg and milk; stir in carrot, onion, wheat germ, salt, marjoram, and pepper.
Add ground beef; mix well.
Shape into four 1/2-inch-thick patties.
Grill over medium-hot coals till desired doneness, turning once (allow 10 to 12 minutes total time for medium).
During last minute of cooking time, place a slice of cheese atop each patty.
Serve patties on toasted buns or rolls with lettuce and tomato.
