|Ground beef||1 1⁄2 Pound|
|Canned chopped green chilies||4 Ounce|
|Crushed corn chips||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm)|
|Chili powder||1 Tablespoon|
|Shredded monterey jack cheese||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Mix ground beef, egg, chilies, corn chips, onion, garlic and chili powder.
Shape beef mixture into 8 patties, each about 1/2 inch thick.
Place patties on rack in broiler pan.
Set oven control to broil and/or 550Â°.
Broil patties with tops about 3 inches from heat until medium doneness, 5 to 7 minutes on each side.
Place 1 tomato slice on each patty; sprinkle with 1 tablespoon cheese.
Broil just until cheese is melted, about 2 minutes.
