Pizza Burgers

" Its a better-for-you version of an all-time lunch-counter classic. Loaded with popular pizza flavor, the cheese-topped burgers not only taste great, but they beat the clock as well."
Ingredients
  Tomato paste 1⁄8 Can (1.25 oz)
  Salt 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Dried oregano 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Garlic salt 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Aniseed 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Lean ground beef 1⁄4 Pound
  Shredded part skim mozzarella cheese 1 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Hamburger buns 1
  Lettuce leaves 1
  Tomato slices 1
Directions

1. In a large bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Crumble beef over mixture; mix well. Shape into six patties. Place on broiler pan coated with nonstick cooking spray. Broil 6 in. from heat for 5-6 minutes on each side or until juices run clear. Sprinkle with cheese. Broil 1 minute longer or until cheese is melted. Serve on buns with lettuce and tomato.

Pizza burger: 1 burger equals 346 calories, 13 g fat (5 g saturated fat), 75 mg cholesterol, 628 mg sodium, 28 g carbohydrate, 3 g fiber, 28 g protein. Diabetic Exchanges: 3 lean meat, 2 starch, 1/2 fat. Burger king Whooper: 1 burger equals 670 calories, 39 g fat (11 g saturated fat), 80 mg cholesterol, 1020 mg sodium, 51 g carbohydrate, 3 g fiber, 28 g protein.

If you use ground lean goat/mutton or chicken or even minced pork tenderloin the fat is far less! Buy lean meats and mince your own for healthier choice meats.
