Ingredients
  Ground beef 1 Pound
  Shredded potatoes 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Finely chopped onion 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  American cheese slice/Cheddar cheese 5
  Hamburger rolls 5 , split
  Red onion slices 5
Directions

Combine meat, potatoes, onions, salt and pepper; mix well and shape into 5 patties.
Broil 4to 5 minutes on each side, or to desired doneness.
Top each patty with a cheese slice; broil just enough to melt cheese slightly.
On bottom half of roll, layer onion slice, patty and top half of bun.
Makes 5 servings.
