Barley Burger Stew
|Extra lean ground turkey/Beef||8 Ounce|
|Onion||1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped|
|Carrots||1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped|
|Celery||1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped|
|Low sodium tomato juice||4 1⁄2 Cup (72 tbs)|
|Hot water||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Chili seasoning||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Black pepper||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Uncooked barley||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
In a large skillet sprayed with butter-flavored cooking spray, brown meat and onion.
Spray a slow cooker container with butter-flavored cooking spray.
Place meat mixture in prepared container.
Stir in carrots, celery, tomato juice, water, chili seasoning, and black pepper.
Add uncooked barley.
Mix well to combine.
Cover and cook on MEDIUM for 6 to 8 hours.
Mix well before serving.
