Steak Burgers

Ingredients
  Ground lean chuck 2 Pound (Round Or Sirloin Tip)
  Finely chopped onion 3 Tablespoon
  Salt 2 Teaspoon
  Black pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Butter/Basting sauce 2 Tablespoon (Favorite)
Directions

Combine first 4 ingredients; mix well.
Shape into 6 to 8 patties 3/4-inch thick.
Refrigerate until ready to cook.
Arrange patties on cooking grill.
Cover kettle and cook until brown and crisp on underside.
Turn, cover kettle and cook to doneness desired.
Serve on toasted and buttered hamburger buns or bread.
Yield: 6 to 8 burgers.
If you prefer to sear.
Leave cover off 1 minute before cooking first side.
Cover, cook, turn.
Leave cover off 1 minute to sear second side, cover and cook.
ON GAS KETTLE: INDIRECT METHOD HIGH HEAT.
Place patties in center area; cover and cook on 1st side.
Turn and move to outer area of cooking grill.
Cover and cook to desired degree of doneness.
If you prefer to sear.
Sear 1 minute on each side DIRECT METHOD HIGH HEAT.
Move meat to outer area of cooking grill and switch to INDIRECT METHOD HIGH HEAT.
Cover, cook on 1st side.
Turn meat moving back into center area of cooking grill.
Cover and cook to desired degree of doneness.
