Frank And Burger Loaf

Ingredients
  Italian bread loaf 20 Inch (4 Inch Wide)
  Evaporated milk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Egg 1
  Ground beef round 1 Pound
  Minced onion 1 Tablespoon
  Chopped green pepper 2 Tablespoon
  Chopped pimiento 1 Tablespoon
  Salt 1 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Monosodium glutamate 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Frankfurters 3
  Sweet gherkins 6
Directions

About 1 hour and 45 minutes before serving: Cut thin slice from top of bread.
Carefully scoop out enough crumbs from center to make 2 cups, loosely packed.
Set bread shell and top aside.
Preheat oven to 375°F.
In large bowl, combine crumbs, milk and egg; let stand 10 minutes.
Add beef and next 6 ingredients; mix well.
Spread half of meat mixture evenly over bottom of bread shell; arrange franks, end to end, lengthwise along center, with sweet gherkins beside them, also end to end.
Top with rest of meat mixture, filling shell.
Replace bread top; secure with toothpicks.
Place on cookie sheet; cover loosely with foil; bake 1 hour and 30 minutes.
To serve, remove toothpicks and cut loaf into 1-inch-thick slices.
