Gourmet Gruyere Burgers
|Onion/Null||1 Medium, finely chopped (Null)|
|Vegetable oil/Null||1 Tablespoon (Null)|
|Lean ground beef/Null||1 1⁄2 Pound (Null)|
|Garlic/Null||1 Clove (5 gm), crushed (Null)|
|Salt/Null||To Taste (Null)|
|Freshly ground black pepper/Null||1 (Null)|
|Hamburger rolls/Null||6 (Null)|
|Grated gruyere cheese/Null||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs) (Null)|
|Dijon mustard/Null||3 Tablespoon (Null)|
|Crisply fried bacon/Null||1 Ounce, crumbled (For Garnish)|
|Avocado slices/Null||4 (For Garnish)|
|Tomato slices/Null||4 (For Garnish)|
Saute onion in oil until it is just browned.
Place onion in a bowl, then add ground beef, garlic, salt and pepper.
Shape into 6 patties.
Put patties in hinged wire grill and place over a solid bed of glowing coals.
Cook about 6 minutes.
Turn burgers and cook second side for 4 minutes.
Place hamburger rolls cut-side down on the barbecue grill to toast.
Top each patty with grated Gruyere cheese and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
