Burgers A La King
|Plain flour||4 Tablespoon|
|Milk||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Onion||1 Medium, chopped|
|Vegetable burgers||4 , cubed|
|Button mushrooms||3 Cup (48 tbs), chopped|
|Green pepper||1⁄2 , chopped|
|Vegetable stock/Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Egg yolks||2 , beaten|
|Ground black pepper||To Taste|
Prepare the white sauce with the butter, flour and milk and keep it warm over a very low heat.
Melt the butter in a small saucepan and saute the onion in it for 4-5 minutes until lightly browned.
Add the burger chunks to the pan and lightly brown - about 5 minutes in total.
Add the mushrooms, green pepper and paprika, then pour in the white sauce, vegetable stock and sherry.
Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes.
Stir in the egg yolks, salt and pepper and cook for a further 2 minutes.
