Bean And Rice Burgers
|Condensed bean with bacon soup||11 1⁄2 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Regular rice||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Wheat germ||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Instant minced onion||1 Tablespoon|
|Garlic salt||3⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Seasoned pepper||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Chili powder||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Ground beef||1 Pound|
|Canned barbecue beans||16 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Shredded sharp american cheese||2 Ounce (1/2 Cup)|
Blend together soup and 2/3 cup water.
Combine 1/2 cup of the soup mixture with the egg; stir in uncooked rice, wheat germ, onion, garlic salt, seasoned pepper, and chili powder.
Add meat; mix well.
Shape into six patties.
In skillet, brown patties on both sides; drain off excess fat.
Combine the remaining soup mixture, beans, and 1/2 cup water; spoon around patties.
Cover and simmer 55 minutes, stirring carefully once or twice.
Uncover; sprinkle the meat patties with shredded cheese.
Continue cooking till cheese melts, 1 to 2 minutes more.
