  Egg 1 , beaten
  Milk 2 Tablespoon
  Wheat germ 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Grated carrot 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Finely chopped onion 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Salt 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Dried marjoram 1⁄4 Teaspoon, crushed
  Pepper 1⁄5 Teaspoon
  Ground beef 1 Pound
  Monterey jack cheese slice 4
  Whole wheat hamburger buns 4 , split, toasted, and buttered
  Lettuce leaves 4
  Tomato slices 4

Combine egg, milk, and wheat germ; stir in carrot, onion, salt, marjoram, and pepper.
Add ground beef; mix well.
Shape into four patties.
Grill over medium-hot coals for 5 to 6 minutes; turn and grill 4 to 5 minutes more.
During 1 ast minute of cooking time, place a slice of cheese atop each patty.
