Tiny Lemon Sticky Buns

  Unsifted flour 5 1⁄2 Cup (88 tbs)
  Sugar 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Salt 2 Teaspoon
  Grated lemon peel 4 Tablespoon
  Dry yeast 1⁄2 Ounce (2 Packages)
  Milk 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Margarine 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Egg 1 (At Room Temperature)
  Chopped blanched almonds 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Light corn syrup 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Ground nutmeg 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Melted margarine 1 Tablespoon

Mix 1 1/2 cups flour, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, 1 tablespoon lemon peel and undissolved yeast thoroughly in a large bowl.
Combine the milk, 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup margarine in a saucepan and place over low heat until liquids are warm.
Margarine does not need to melt.
Add to dry ingredients gradually and beat for 2 minutes with electric mixer at medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally.
Add the egg and 1/2 cup flour and beat at high speed for 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
Stir in enough remaining flour to make a soft dough.
Turn out onto a lightly floured board and knead for 8 to 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic.
Place in a greased bowl and turn to grease top.
Cover and let rise in a warm place, free from draft, for about 1 hour or until doubled in bulk.
Sprinkle the almonds into 3 greased 9-inch round cake pans.
Combine 1 1/2 cups sugar, remaining margarine, corn syrup, 1/4 cup water and remaining lemon peel in a saucepan.
Bring to a boil and cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
Pour over almonds.
Combine remaining sugar and nutmeg.
Punch dough down.
Turn out onto a lightly floured board and divide in 3 equal pieces.
Roll each piece into a 20 x 8-inch rectangle.
Brush with melted margarine and sprinkle with nutmeg mixture.
Roll each up from long side as for jelly roll and seal edges firmly.
Cut into 1-inch slices.
Place, cut side up, in prepared pans.
Cover and let rise in a warm place, free from draft, for about 1 hour or until doubled in bulk.
Bake in 350-degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until done.
Invert buns onto plates or wire racks to cool.
