Sweet Bean Buns
|Pie crust mix||11 Ounce (1 Package, To Make Two 9 Inch Crusts)|
|Canned sweet red bean paste||18 Ounce (1 Can, 1 Pound And 2 Ounces In Weight)|
Prepare pastry mix as directed on package for a 2-crust pie.
Roll all dough out on a floured board to form a rectangle 12 by 16 inches.
Cut in twelve 4-inch squares.
Place an equal amount of the bean paste in each square.
Shape bean paste mound in a rectangle about 2 by 2 1/2 inches.
Fold short ends of pastry over filling, then lap longer sides over top.
Place seam side down on a greased baking sheet and flatten slightly with your hand.
Beat egg yolk with water and brush on each pastry.
Bake in a 375° oven for about 45 minutes or until richly browned.
Cool on wire racks.
Eat warm or cold.
