Fruited Hot Cross Buns

Ingredients
  Hot roll mix 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Soft butter 2 Tablespoon
  Golden seedless raisins 2 Tablespoon
  Chopped mixed candied fruits and peels 2 Tablespoon
  Sugar 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Egg 1 , beaten
Directions

Prepare roll mix according to package directions; add butter and fruits to liquid mixture and sugar and spices to dry ingredients.
Mix well.
Cover and let rise in warm place till double (about 1 1/2 hours).
Turn out on lightly floured surface and knead till smooth.
Shape 16 buns; place on greased baking sheet.
Cover and let rise till almost double (about 50 minutes).
Brush tops with egg mixed with 1 tablespoon water.
Bake at 375° for 15 minutes or till done.
Cool slightly; make crosses with Confectioners' Icing.
Serve warm.
