Preheat oven to 350Â° F. (moderate).
Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs and beat well.
Measure flour and baking powder onto waxed paper.
Stir thoroughly to blend.
Stir into creamed mixture.
Stir in cocoanut and vanilla.
Divide batter in half.
Add the melted chocolate to one half of the batter.
Drop the two mixtures by tablespoonfuls alternately into greased 8" x 8" pan.
Bake at 350Â° F. for 20 minutes.
When cool, frost with Chocolate Icing.
Cut in squares.
