Cream shortening, gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
Combine flour, salt, soda, and cinnamon, gradually add to creamed mixture.
Fold in apple and pecans.
Pour batter into a greased 15- x 10- x 1-inch jellyroll pan.
Bake at 350Â° for 30 minutes.
Remove from oven, and spread top with Cream Cheese Frosting while slightly warm.
Cool completely before cutting into squares.
