|Flour||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs), sifted|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Firmly packed light brown sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Coarsely chopped walnuts/Pecans||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Sift flour with baking powder and salt and set aside.
Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat, add sugar, and stir until dissolved; cool 5 minutes.
Beat in egg and vanilla, mix in dry ingredients and nuts.
Spoon into a greased 8"x8"x2" baking pan and bake 30-35 minutes until brownies just begin to pull from sides of pan.
Cool upright in pan on a wire rack to room temperature, then cut in 16 squares.
