Chocolate Brownies Ii
|Shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|White corn syrup||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Unsweetened chocolate square||2 Ounce, melted (2 Pieces)|
|Cake flour||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), sifted|
|Baking powder||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Eggs||2 , well beaten|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
|Chopped nuts/Seedless raisins||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
Work shortening with a spoon until fluffy and creamy.
Then add corn syrup gradually, while continuing to work with spoon until light.
Stir in melted chocolate.
Sift together dry ingredients, and add 1/4 of them, while beating mixture with spoon.
Add well beaten eggs and vanilla, then rest of dry ingredients and nuts.
Turn into a greased or oiled 9" x 9" x 3" cake pan, and bake in moderate oven of 350°F for about 35-40 min., or until done.
Immediately cut into squares with a sharp knife.
