Fudge Brownies

Ingredients
  Unsweetened chocolate 4 Ounce (4 Squares, 1 Ounce Each)
  Shortening 2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
  Sugar 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Eggs 4
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  All purpose flour 1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs) (Gold Medal)
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Chopped nuts 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Heat oven to 350°.
Grease baking pan, 13 x 9 x 2 inches.
Heat chocolate and shortening in 3-quart saucepan over low heat until melted; remove from heat.
Stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Mix in remaining ingredients.
Spread in pan.
Bake until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan, about 30 minutes. (Do not over-bake.) Cool slightly; spread with Glossy Chocolate Frosting if desired.
Cool completely; cut into bars, about 2 x 1 1/2 inches.
