|Butter/Part shortening and part butter||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Baking unsweetened chocolate||2 Ounce|
|Semi-sweet baking chocolate||2 Ounce|
|Sugar||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Sifted flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Pecans||1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped|
Melt butter and chocolate in double boiler.
Add sugar and then eggs, beaten in 1 at a time.
Add flour; then add vanilla and pecans.
Bake in a greased 8xl2-inch pan at 350° for 40 minutes.
While brownies are still warm, ice with a chocolate-powdered sugar icing.
Brownies may also be iced with a can of Swel chocolate icing, substituting hot coffee for water and adding 1 tablespoon butter.
