|Unsweetened bakers chocolate||2 Ounce|
|Soft butter/Shortening||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Calumet baking powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Chopped nuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Melt chocolate with butter over low heat.
Mix flour with baking powder and salt.
Beat eggs well; then gradually beat in sugar.
Blend in chocolate mixture and vanilla.
Add flour mixture and mix well.
Stir in nuts.
Spread in greased 8-inch square pan.
Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes (for moist, chewy brownies); or about 30 minutes, or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean (for cakelike brownies).
Cool in pan; then cut into squares.
