Broccoli With Almonds And Blue Cheese Sauce
|Broccoli||1 Pound (450 Gram)|
|Water||45 Milliliter (3 Tablespoon)|
|Cream||1⁄4 Pint (2/3 Cup / 150 Milliliter)|
|Danish blue cheese||1 1⁄2 Ounce (6 Tablespoon / 40 Gram)|
|White pepper||To Taste|
|Slivered toasted almonds||1 1⁄2 Ounce, or flaked (Scant 1/3 Cup / 40 Gram)|
|Red pepper pieces||1 (Diamond Shapes)|
Wash the broccoli and remove the outer leaves and tough stalks. Make slits up the stalks to speed up cooking.
Put the broccoli in a dish with the water. Cover with vented cling film (plastic wrap) and cook for 10 minutes, rearranging once, until tender. Drain and keep hot.
Mash the cream into the cheese until smooth. Cook for 1 - 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and pour over the broccoli.
