Sauteed Broccoli With Garlic
|Fresh broccoli/Two 10-ounce packages frozen cut broccoli||1 Pound|
|Chopped onion||2 Tablespoon|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), minced|
|Olive oil/Cooking oil||1 Tablespoon|
|Dried oregano||1⁄2 Teaspoon, crushed|
Cut fresh broccoli stalks lengthwise into uniform spears, following the branching lines.
Cut off buds and set aside.
Cut the remaining part of spears into 1-inch pieces.
In covered saucepan cook broccoli pieces in boiling salted water for 10 to 12 minutes or just till tender, adding reserved broccoli buds the last 5 minutes.
In skillet cook onion and garlic in butter and olive oil till onion is tender.
Add broccoli and oregano.
Cook for 3 to 5 minutes or till broccoli is heated through, stirring occasionally.
