|Beef brisket||7 Pound|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Salt||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Monterey style spice blend||1 Tablespoon|
|Apple cider/Cherry apple cider||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Hickory smoke barbecue sauce||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Rub both sides of the brisket with a mixture of the sugar, salt and spice blend.
Place in a glass dish.
Drizzle with the cider.
Chill, covered, for 8 to 10 hours.
Place the brisket fat side up with the marinade in a baking pan; cover loosely with foil.
Bake at 250 degrees for 7 hours, or 1 hour per pound.
Pull or shred the brisket and mix with desired amount of barbecue sauce.
