Marinated Brisket

Ingredients
  Canned beef consomme 10 1⁄2 Ounce
  Soy sauce 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Lemon juice 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Liquid smoke 1 Tablespoon
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), minced
  Beef brisket 3 Pound
Directions

Combine beef consomme, soy sauce, lemon juice, liquid smoke, and garlic in an 11- x 7- x 2-inch baking dish, mixing well.
Place beef brisket in dish, turning once in marinade.
Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight, turning meat occasionally.
Cover beef brisket, and bake at 300° for 2 hours or until desired degree of doneness.
Serve with gravy made from marinade.
Yield: 6 servings.
Note: To thicken gravy, combine marinade and 1/4 cup cornstarch in a heavy saucepan; mix well.
Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally; cook 1 minute.
