Fresh & Tasty Brisket With Kraut
|Fresh beef brisket||2 Pound (1 Beef Brisket)|
|Onions||2 Medium, sliced|
|Water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Potato||1 Medium, peeled and shredded|
|Caraway seed||1 Teaspoon|
Trim excess fat from meat.
Place meat, fat side down, in skillet; brown on both sides.
Add onions, water, salt, and bay leaf.
Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours.
Drain sauerkraut (rinse, if milder flavor is desired); add to meat with potato and caraway.
Simmer, covered, till meat is tender, about 30 minutes longer.
Remove the bay leaf.
