Prepare the hot roll mix according to package directions, adding cheese and poppy seed.
Let rise until doubled in bulk, then divide in half.
Roll out each half on a lightly floured surface to a 10 x 6-inch rectangle and cut in twenty 6-inch long strips.
Roll each strip between hands until shape of a pencil.
Place on a greased baking sheet and brush with melted butter.
Let rise for 30 to 45 minutes or until doubled in bulk.
Bake in 400-degree oven for 10 minutes or until done.
