Brown Bread

Brown bread, also known as whole wheat bread, is a class of brown colored coarse whole grain flour bread. The primary ingredient is either rye or wheat. High in fiber content and low in calories brown bread is recommended over white bread from the health perspective. Sometimes, dark colored elements like coffee or molasses are added to enhance its flavor. A couple of popular varieties are Irish brown bread, a variation of Irish Soda Bread, and New England Brown Bread, a light colored sweet bread of the quick bread genre. Brown bread forms a base for many main course breakfast recipes like sandwiches and toasts.
