Banana Bread

Ingredients
  Shortening 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Eggs 2
  Sifted all purpose flour 1 3⁄4 Cup (28 tbs)
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ripe banana 1 Cup (16 tbs), mashed
  Chopped california walnuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Cream together shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat well.
Sift together dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with banana, blending well after each addition.
Stir in walnuts.
Pour into a well greased 9 1/2x5x3 inch loaf pan.
Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes or till done.
Remove from pan; cool on rack.
