Ingredients
  Ginger 1 Teaspoon (5 Milliliters)
  Margarine 6 Ounce (175 Grams Or 3/4 Cup)
  Golden syrup 15 Milliliter (1 Tablespoon)
  Sugar 1⁄4 Pound (100 Grams Or 1/2 Cup)
  Porridge oats 2 Pound (225 Grams Or 1/2 Cup)
  Mixed spice 1 Pinch
  Shortening 1 Tablespoon (For Greasing)
Directions

1 Preheat the oven to 190°C, 375°F,gas5.
2 Melt the margarine with the golden syrup and demerara sugar in a pan.
Add the porridge oats and the mixed spice and stir well.
3 Pour into a greased baking tin 25x18 cm (10x7 in) and bake for 20 minutes until golden-brown.
4 Cut into ten fingers while still warm.
