Whole Wheat Cardamom Bread
|Whole wheat flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Baking soda||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground cardamom||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Egg||1 , beaten|
|Buttermilk||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Honey||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Margarine||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs), melted|
|Raisins||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Vegetable cooking spray||1 Tablespoon|
Combine first 5 ingredients in a mixing bowl, and set aside.
Combine egg, buttermilk, honey, and margarine, mix well.
Add buttermilk mixture to dry ingredients, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.
Stir in raisins and nutmeg.
Coat the bottom only of a loaf pan with cooking spray.
Spoon batter into loaf pan; bake at 350°F for 50 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Let cool in pan 10 minutes; remove to wire rack, and cool completely.
