Bread Basket Of Sandwiches

Ingredients
  Round loaf italian bread/Rye bread 1 Large (About 8 Inches Long)
  Lettuce 1 (For Serving)
  Pineapple cheese spread 1 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Ham spread 1 1⁄2 Tablespoon
Directions

Slice off about 1/2 inch from top and bottom of loaf using a large serrated knife.
Set aside both slices to use later as a bread basket base and lid.
Using a gentle sawing motion, cut vertically to bottom of loaf, 1/2 inch from edge.
Lift out center for sandwiches, and trim 1/2 inch around outside of center portion to allow room for the sandwiches in the basket, and make serving easier.
Slice the trimmed center into 8 equal wedges.
To assemble basket, set bread base on platter, replace bread shell on base, and line with lettuce.
Turn each wedge of bread on its side, and cut into 4 equal slices.
Spread about 1 1/2 tablespoons of Pineapple-Cheese Spread or Ham Spread between every 2 slices.
Stack the sandwiches back into position in the basket, and then top with the reserved bread lid.
