Brush dinner rolls with a little butter or milk and bake in the oven until hot. Serve immediately in folded napkins together with ice-cold butter.
Brush a long roll like French bread with butter or milk.
Cut slices almost to the bottom.
Spread butter (or flavoured butter like parsley or garlic butter) between the slices.
Wrap in aluminium foil and bake in a hot oven at 400Â°F. for 15 to 20 minutes. Serve the bread in foil.
