Healthy Brown Bread

Ingredients
  Whole wheat flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Cornmeal 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  All purpose flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Baking powder 2 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Buttermilk 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Molasses 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Shortening 2 Tablespoon, melted
  Raisins 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
Directions

Combine first 6 ingredients in a large mixing bowl; add buttermilk, molasses, and shortening; beat until well mixed.
Stir in raisins.
Pour batter into two well-greased 13-ounce coffee cans.
Cover the cans with a double thickness of foil; tie securely with string.
Place cans on a shallow rack in a large, deep kettle; add water to a 1-inch depth.
Cover kettle; steam bread 3 hours with water boiling continuously (replace water as needed).
Remove bread from cans; let cool 10 minutes on wire racks.
Serve warm.
