Orange Slice Bread

Ingredients
  Shortening 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Sugar 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Coffee 1 Cup (16 tbs), cold
  Sour milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Soda 1 Teaspoon
  Flour 4 Cup (64 tbs), sifted
  Dates 2 Cup (32 tbs), finely chopped
  Orange 1 Pound, slices
  Nuts 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
  Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 1 Teaspoon
Directions

Cream shortening and sugar together; add egg, salt and coffee.
Combine sour milk and soda: add to creamed mixture.
Add sifted flour, dates, diced orange slices, nuts and spices; mix well.
Pour into 2 well-greased loaf pans.
Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
